Joel Aldrich House 1804
Before the homeowners could get the house painted, the exterior woodwork needed to be restored. We disassembled the front portico and rebuilt it with replicated moldings. The portico's asphalt roof was replaced with slate to match the main house. The side porch had its columns restored and the deck structure repaired. Water had found its way into the plank wall construction in various spots, so those areas were taken apart and restored. Finally we went over all the clapboard and replaced any failed sections. Most of the original clapboard was still on the house so in those areas, we had to hand make clapboards to match the original.

130 Hamilton Street - A home built in 1895
While renovating a bathroom, the homeowner discovered that a plumbing leak in the wall had rotted the corner sill. We jacked up the floor structure and added new joists. A new sill was fabricated and installed. Then the wall studs were repaired. The wall was sheathed in plywood and the siding applied.

Fredrick Tripp House 1871
We worked for Bob Vila's "Home Again" TV show on this project. The sunroom roof was completely restructured in order to support a Thermospa. We started by demolishing the existing roof and rebuilding it according to the architects drawings. Then a rubber membrane roof was installed on top of that. The Thermospa was craned in and set onto the roof. We replicated a railing to match the house and added a copper dripedge flashing. Then the mahogany decking was laid down on sleepers so as not to harm the rubber roof. After finishing and painting, the homeowners put out some cafe furniture and they were ready to enjoy that new outdoor space.
